Taking the Capitol Building

The damaged capitol building of Cebu. Behind it loom the hills and mountains that the American Division took by force from fierce Japanese resistance.

  1. What used to be the public library (bottom right corner) was where Emilio Osmena, Sr. was executed and buried by the Japanese. His body was dug up after the war. He was executed for not collaborating with the invaders and for being the G2 (Intelligence Officer) of the USAFFE division in Cebu.
